Julian Coriz has been making pottery for approximately a decade now. He employs ancient techniques and materials when producing his wares. Although his materials and techniques are classical, the style is decidedly contemporary.

At first glance, one could assume that Julian’s pottery is very traditional, but look closer and you will see contemporary uses for the old motifs. His style focuses on intricate designs. Where most other potters use bold geometric patterns on their pieces, Julian’s stand out with focus on minute details and patterns. All this culminates in a new genre of pueblo pottery: new traditional.

Julian continues to develop his own style, while in one way or another maintains tradition in his pieces.
