Timothy Talawepi is from Hopi, at the Third Mesa: the Village of Hotevilla. He is a member of the Greasewood and Bamboo clan. Timothy has been carving now for over 30 years, first becoming serious in high school. He notes that he saw his dad carving in the old-time style, but he wanted to experiment and carve a different way, so he gravitated towards making highly detailed pieces.
