Denise Wallace: I am the Walrus (Lecture) + Public Trunk Show
December 9 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pmFree
Join the Case Trading Post and Denise Wallace for a special lecture.
Denise Wallace will present information on why the ivory ban is harmful to Native artists. The new state laws that are banning the sale, use, and possession of ivory do not distinguish between African elephant ivory and the legally acquired walrus, mammoth, and mastodon ivory. Alaskan Native artists use legally acquired ivory.
Denise uses fossil walrus ivory and has been practicing jewelry for over 40 years. Her children are also jewelers.
