Student Talk with Chad “Little Coyote” Yellowjohn

1:00 P.M. & 3:00 PM Presentation

Chad “Little Coyote” Yellowjohn is Shoshone-Bannock/Spokane. He was raised in Ione, Washington. As a child, Yellowjohn had difficulty speaking. Over the years, his imagination blossomed on paper which quickly lead to an interest in free hand illustration. His mother could get a sense of his mood through his images. He would also lighten her day through his drawings which depicted positive atmospheres.

Yellowjohn is attending the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Sante Fe, New Mexico to advance his talents and become a professional illustrator. He promotes optimistic activism or “protecting” through his creative talents.
