For our January Free First Sunday of the month, we are pleased to have Leah Mata (yak tityu tityu Northern Chumash) lead a demonstration from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the museum classroom. Visitors will learn about the materials and cultural significance of her beautiful coastal California jewelry and regalia. She will bring examples of Chumash style dresses that combine California resources such as shells, feathers, pine nuts, and buckskin, as well as imported glass beads.
