From a press release dated February 15, 1987:

The weaving exhibit will feature a treasury of 30 rugs, serapes, mantas, and chief blankets which were culled from one of the finest private collections. This display of historic Navajo weavings made during the 19th century illustrates the artistic development of Navajo design inspired by the three cultures which directly affected early Navajo life: Hispanic, Pueblo Indian and Anglo-American.
