Join the conversation between painter, printmaker and Echoes artist Linda Lomahaftewa (Hopi & Choctaw) and beadwork artist and collector Ken Williams Jr. (Northern Arapaho & Seneca).
From mentorship to friendship. Join us for this conversation between two artists whose relationship has spanned over twenty years; Linda Lomahaftewa and Ken Williams Jr. They will talk about their experiences attending the Institute of American Indian Arts and their artwork featured in Echoes: Selections from the Wheelwright Museum’s Permanent Collection. Lomahaftewa was one of the first students to attend IAIA and later became an instructor at the school where she taught numerous budding artists such as Williams. Lomhaftewa is a printmaker, painter, and mixed-media artist, and Williams is a contemporary traditional beader. Facilitated by Will Riding In, Curator of Collections and Engagement.
This is a significant opportunity to hear from these dynamic creators. This is an in- person event and is included with museum admission.
