Publications by the Wheelwright Museum are renowned for their exquisite imagery, important and original scholarship, and compelling text by leading experts in the field of Native American art. Catalogs beautifully document the museum’s unique exhibition program, and offer insight into the inspirations, work habits, and creative processes of featured artists. The Wheelwright Museum publications program is part of the museum’s exhibitions and curatorial department. Our books represent collaborative efforts among guest curators and authors, artists, and museum staff.
In the past fifteen years the Wheelwright has published more exhibition catalogs than all of the other Native American arts-oriented museums in Santa Fe combined, and in that period it has published more original scholarship on Native American arts than any other museum in the United States.
