Visualizing K’é presents a series of new works by master printmaker and professor Marwin Begaye (Diné). The tour will offer a glimpse into the development of the exhibition and the
Wheelwright Museum’s collaboration with Begaye. It will be an exciting opportunity to hear directly from the artist and learn more about the process behind his work. Free with admission.
Marwin Begaye (Diné) was born in the Navajo Nation and educated at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, the Institute of American Indian Arts, and the University of Oklahoma. He is currently a professor of studio art at the University of Oklahoma, School of Visual Arts. His ongoing research examines issues of cultural identity through the intersection of Indigenous American and popular cultures, as well as the technical processes related to printmaking and the construction of mixed-media art. His work has been exhibited internationally on five continents and is held in several national collections.
