Tour & Talk with the Artist and the Curator
Join master printmaker Marwin Begaye and curator Hadley Jensen as they discuss the development of the exhibition and the Wheelwright Museum’s collaboration with Begaye. It will be an exciting opportunity to hear directly from the artist and learn more about the process behind his work.

About the curator: Hadley Jensen is the Curator of Collections and Research at the Wheelwright Museum. Through an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach, her work explores the intersection of visual art, anthropology, and material culture with a focus on Native North American art. She has a particular interest in textiles and dress, and she is the co-curator and editor of Horizons: Weaving Between the Lines with Diné Textiles (Museum of New Mexico Press, 2024). She holds an MA and PhD from Bard Graduate Center in New York.
About the artist: Marwin Begaye is an internationally exhibited printmaker, painter. As Associate Professor of Painting and Printmaking at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Visual Arts, his research has been concentrated on issues of cultural identity, especially the intersection of traditional American Indian culture and pop culture. He also has conducted research in the technical aspects of relief printing and the use of mixed‐media. His work has been exhibited nationally across the U.S. and internationally New Zealand, Argentina, Paraguay, Italy, Siberia and Estonia. He has received numerous awards, including the Oklahoma Visual Artists Coalition Fellowship, Best of Classification in Graphics at 2019 Santa Fe Indian Market, among many others. He has been featured in many publications and is represented by Exhibit C in Oklahoma City.
