Kevin Aspaas (Diné) is an award-winning weaver and fiber artist from Shiprock, New Mexico. Aspaas utilizes the traditional Diné sheep-to-loom weaving process and works primarily with natural fibers and dyes. He is best known for producing the Navajo wedge weaving technique as well as other traditional and contemporary Navajo textiles. Aspaas is currently the 2024 Ronald and Susan Dubin Fellow in Residence at the School for Advanced Research (SAR) and serves as a board member of Diné Bé’Iiná, a Diné-led nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote and preserve Navajo lifeways through land, sheep, fiber, and food.
