Past Exhibitions
Until the late 1970s the Wheelwright Museum's collections grew relatively slowly and primarily dedicated to the presentation of Diné ceremonial culture. When in the 1970s, the Wheelwright Museum shifted its emphasis to contemporary Diné and other Indigenous North American arts, it developed a program of constantly changing exhibition with an early and unique role in promoting the work of emerging and established Indigenous artists in well-documented solo shows.
